Welcome to the new Metal Oxide blog. Each week I will post the playlist from the show, along with a quick rundown of how the show went. I will also post a copy of it on our Myspace page. Also, if you are listening to the show live, you can follow us on our Twitter page.
This week, we chose to play a lot of iconic songs by some major bands, such as "Progenies of the Great Apocalypse" by Dimmu Borgir and "The Cage" by Sonata Arctica, because one of our friends was listening for the first time and we wanted to introduce her to all the kinds of the metal we play on the show. Also, this week's show was really heavy on Folk Metal for the same reason and because it's just awesome.
There wasn't much to talk about this week for news. Leaves' Eye's bassist regrettably had to leave the band due to personal reasons. Also, Nightwish (sans Tarja Turunen, of course) is officially in the studio working on a new album. Although it's "new Nightwish, we figured we would say this anyway. Finally, Norther (sans Petri Lindroos) is working on their 6th full length album, which is called "Circle Regenerated" and is scheduled for an early 2011 release.
